July 06, 2025 | Gary Holmes

Passage: Colossians 3:12-14

The term “beloved community” was popularized and invested with deeper meaning by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Beloved Community is where injustice ceases, and love prevails. This beloved community is a foundation for our faith and the vision for our church.

“Building Beloved Community: Connecting, Growing, and Serving”

The text today reminds us of our role in creating a beloved community…it is the witness of the church, when we are at our best and our faith is clear…there is Hope For All.

Colossians 3:12-14 - The Message
12-14 So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.
