At UMC Whitefish Bay, we want children to know they are loved, welcomed, and valued. Through worship, Sunday School, music, service, and family activities, we help children build friendships and grow in faith.

Sunday School

Through engaging, age-appropriate programs, children learn about faith, build friendships, and know they belong.  We have programs for kids from infancy through high school.

  • Children's message and Sunday School is offered during the 10:30 a.m. service.
  • Children's Sunday School (KICKstart) is offered year-round for age 4 through 6th grade.
  • Youth Sunday School is offered during the school year for 7th through 12th grade.
  • Children 3rd grade and older are invited to stay in the communion service on the 1st Sunday of each month to receive communion.

Family Ministry

Our Family Ministry offers welcoming, flexible opportunities for children and families to connect, grow, and serve together.  UMC Whitefish Bay invites families to enjoy faith centered family events, opportunities to serve together, weekly meals and more.  We’ll meet you where you are and help make faith a meaningful part of your family’s everyday life.

Preschool & Childcare 

Through our Light the Way Christian Childcare Center and Tree of Life Preschool, we offer quality, faith-based childcare options to the North Shore community. Learn more about these weekday programs serving children and families in our community.

A Safe Place For Children

We want parents and caregivers to feel confident that their children are welcomed and cared for. Volunteers who work with children complete background checks and receive training in our Safe Sanctuary policies and procedures.

We provide a staffed nursery and age-appropriate programs for children from six weeks old through sixth grade. Our Sanctuary also includes a family lounge with a private nursing area and space for families who may need a break during worship.

Growing Together in Faith

We encourage faith development through Bible stories, exciting worship, and active service.  The goal is to grow disciples who recognize Jesus Christ as their friend while learning to love God and those around them. 

Nobody should walk through life alone. We emphasize connection of children and families with one another and the broader church family.  We create community through events, activities, and connection opportunities.
