Visiting a church for the first time can bring lots of questions. Where to park, what to wear, what worship is like, and what your children will do. We've answered some of the most common ones below. We worship every Sunday at 9:00 a.m. with contemporary worship and at 10:30 a.m. with traditional worship. Both services are held in our Sanctuary, and you can also worship with us online.
Both services include music, Scripture, prayer, and a message from our pastors. The 9:00 a.m. contemporary service features contemporary Christian music led by our Praise Team. The 10:30 a.m. traditional service includes hymns, choir, organ, and other special music. Choose the style that feels right for you. Or try both!
No. People come to UMCWFB from many faith backgrounds, and some are exploring faith or church for the first time. We welcome your questions and recognize that people understand and express their faith in different ways. Come as you are. You don't need to have everything figured out before you visit.
Whatever makes you comfortable. You'll see everything from jeans and casual clothes to more traditional Sunday clothing. There is no dress code. Come as you are.
No. You won't be asked to stand or introduce yourself during worship. Greeters are available to welcome you, answer questions, and help you find your way. You're welcome to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable.
We're located at 819 E. Silver Spring Drive in Whitefish Bay, in the heart of Milwaukee's North Shore and just a block from Lake Michigan.
Parking is available on nearby streets and in the municipal lot about a block west of the church. Accessible and reserved parking spaces are available near the Silver Spring Drive entrance.
For Sunday worship, the Silver Spring Drive entrance is a good place to begin. When you arrive, you'll find greeters ready to welcome you and help you find the Sanctuary, nursery, children's areas, restrooms, or wherever you need to go.
Yes. Accessible parking is available near the front entrance, and the church has automatic doors, an elevator, accessible restrooms, and wheelchair-accessible seating in the Sanctuary. If you have a particular accessibility question or would like assistance when you arrive, please contact the church office. We'll be glad to help.
Absolutely! Children of all ages are welcome in worship at UMCWFB. We also offer Sunday School, nursery and toddler care, and other opportunities for children to learn, make friends, and grow in faith.
Yes. Nursery and toddler care is available during both Sunday services. Children are always welcome to stay with you in worship, too. When you arrive, a greeter will be happy to help you find the nursery.
Children are always welcome to worship with their families. During the school year, children age 4 through sixth grade begin the 10:30 a.m. service with their families and are invited to Sunday School following the children's message.
Middle and high school students have opportunities to build friendships, explore their faith, serve others, and connect with caring adult mentors. During the school year, youth typically gather on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, along with special activities, service projects, camps, and mission opportunities.

No. If you're visiting UMCWFB, please don't feel any obligation to give. An offering is an opportunity for those who consider UMCWFB their church home to support its ministries and mission. Your presence with us is enough.
Yes. We celebrate an open Communion table, which means you do not need to be a member of UMCWFB, or of any church, to receive Communion. We normally celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of each month. Children are welcome to participate, and if you prefer not to receive Communion, that is completely okay.
