Philosophy and Curriculum

Light the Way Christian Childcare Center is a place where young hearts and minds play, learn, and grow together. We provide a nurturing environment where each child is encouraged to develop their cognitive, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual abilities to their fullest potential. Our curriculum and daily activities are designed to support the whole child. Children have opportunities for spiritual growth through weekly chapel, prayer, and learning about God's love. We also nurture emotional and social growth through children's yoga and mindfulness, and activities that help children recognize and work through their feelings, build self-awareness, and develop positive relationships with others. At Light the Way, we believe every child is a unique and precious gift. Our goal is to create a loving, supportive environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to grow into who God created them to be.

Our Mission

For more than 35 years, the childcare ministry of United Methodist Church of Whitefish Bay has served children and families in our community. Today, Light the Way continues that tradition by providing a welcoming Christian environment where children are known, loved, and encouraged to discover their unique gifts. We partner with families to nurture each child and help them grow with confidence, compassion, curiosity, and faith.

Program Information

Ages Served: 6 weeks - 5 years
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Enrollment

How to Enroll

The first step to enrollment is adding your child to our waitlist by filling out and returning the registration form below. Forms can be mailed or dropped off to the church, or emailed to Christy Wimmer. Families will be contacted as space becomes available. We enroll children in January, June, and September.
