Serve at UMC Whitefish Bay

Put Faith Into Action. Love Our Neighbors. Make a Difference.

Faith calls us beyond ourselves.

At UMC Whitefish Bay, Serve means using our time, talents, and compassion to make a difference—in our church, throughout the Milwaukee community, and beyond.

Whether you have an hour to give, a skill to share, or a desire to help but aren't sure where to begin, there is a place for you to serve.

Together, we can be the hands and feet of Christ in the world.

Community Missions

Men in hardhats help build a home in Milwaukee with Habitat for Humanity.

Make a difference close to home.

Serve alongside others through hands-on mission opportunities throughout Milwaukee and the surrounding community.

From tutoring and neighborhood projects to food programs and community partnerships, there are many ways to put faith into action while getting to know the people and organizations making our community stronger.

Hunger & Homelessness

Women prepare meals to be served to a group.

Help meet some of our neighbors' most basic needs.

UMCWFB partners with organizations throughout Milwaukee to prepare and serve meals, make lunches, collect food, and support people experiencing hunger and homelessness.

Many opportunities require only a few hours, making this a meaningful way to begin serving.

Social Justice

Learn. Pray. Act.

Through education, conversation, advocacy, and community partnerships, we work toward racial justice, peace, environmental care, human rights, and a more equitable community.

Serve in Our Church

Your gifts can make a difference right here.

There are many ways to help make ministry happen within our church.

Welcome people on Sunday mornings, help with children and youth, sing or play an instrument, visit a homebound member, help on Wednesday nights, care for our building, lead a group, or share another gift or skill.

Mission & Service Projects

Serve together. Build relationships. Change lives.

Mission experiences give people an opportunity to step outside their everyday routines and serve alongside others.

From home repair and community service projects to the Appalachia Service Project and other mission experiences, serving together can change both the communities we visit and the people who participate.

Global Missions

Our neighbors extend far beyond our own community.

Mission knows no boundaries.

UMCWFB supports opportunities to serve and partner with people beyond Wisconsin through mission projects, international outreach, and through partnerships across the wider United Methodist Church.

Together we can help address needs for housing, food, health, education, and hope both near and far.

Find Your Way to Make a Difference

You don't need special experience or a lot of free time to serve.

Make lunches. Serve a meal. Tutor a child. Welcome someone on Sunday. Help with a service project. Learn about an issue. Join a mission trip.

Start with something that speaks to you—and discover how serving others can transform your own life as well.

There's a place for you to make a difference.
