Mission is why we are here

Going into the world near and far to serve others is fundamental to our belief as a Christian community.  Personal faith development often progresses the most while selflessly giving to others.  Find your journey in service to others through participation in one of our mission events or trips.  Join us as we become the hands and feet of Christ.

Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you - John 20:21

Church and Society

Christ expects us to love all and promote equality.  Our Church and Society teams live out the calling to work toward personal and social holiness through five program priorities, all grounded in racial justice.  Poverty,  Climate,  Health,  Peace,  Civil and Human Rights
  • We advocate and educate for issues such as immigration; health care; environment and climate; civil, human and voting rights; incarceration and prisons; and poverty and hunger.
  • The Racial Diversity Team is a racial justice group whose mission is “to understand, acknowledge and confront the racial inequities, ideas and beliefs present in ourselves, our congregation and our society, and to fulfill our Christian calling to love, care and seek justice for those impacted by inequities.” Our four goals are to: Pray for change, listen and learn about racial diversity and justice, engage with our racially diverse neighbors, and act as advocates for justice.

We work within our church and community to offer educational programs on racial justice, advocate for racial equity, and experience and share Black culture, art and history.  We recognize that we have much to learn as we seek to improve our practice of racial justice and appreciate suggestions and feedback, especially from people of color.
