|
|
|
|
Kairos is
a new ministry prayerfully launched in July 2007. Our group of
approximately 20-25 persons at present is open to all those who may
be gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered or questioning of sexual
identity, as well as family and friends of those persons who believe
in opening our doors of welcome to all persons who may feel excluded
in other churches. |

For The Bible
Tells Me So
Can the love between two people ever be an
abomination?
Through the experiences of five
very normal, very Christian, very American families, this film
offers
healing, clarity and understanding to anyone caught
in the crosshairs of scripture and sexual identity.

Coming Out
A
1989 film made by the
East
German film monopoly.
The film deals with the process of the
protagonist's
coming out
as
gay.
The film was shot entirely on location in
East
Berlin and includes
scenes shot with amateurs in some of the city's
gay bars
and clubs. It won two awards for its treatment of the issue of
homosexuality at the
Berlinale
in 1990. It was the only East German film to deal directly
with homosexuality and was premiered on the very night that the
Berlin
Wall came down.
Light
refreshments, conversation and a free will offering received. |

Kairos Group Wesley Room
Richard Whitaker
Dr. Mary Lou Taylor
3rd Sunday of the month 12 noon - 2:00 pm |
Kairos meets
monthly for a bring- your-own-bag lunch on third Sunday of the
month from noon to 2 pm in the Wesley room. Several Kairos
members will walk this fall in the city-wide AIDS Walk at the
lakefront. Currently we are
considering a mission statement to become a designated
"reconciling" small group within the United Methodist
Reconciling Ministries Network. Co-facilitators of Kairos are
Dr. Mary Lou Taylor and Richard Whitaker. When you see any one
of us wearing a rainbow sticker on our nametags, stop and talk
with us. We will answer questions and urge you to visit our
monthly gatherings.
We
welcome everyone into this fellowship!
